I am so grateful for my parents and how much they help and love our kids! The relationships we have with them is something special. God knew I would need these amazing, strong, Christian parents to help me on my life's journey. When we first found out about Arianna needing her second heart surgery I turned to them for guidance. I can say we have built up our faith and feel stronger than ever. Thank you Mom & Dad for being there for us during the good times and holding our hands through the bad. God is so good!

Trip to the Pulmonologist

 We took Arianna to the pulmonologist today to check on her lungs.

Arianna & Michael

Michael is a PICU nurse and also finishing his NP training so we got to see him today in clinic. Arianna finally got her picture with him! Michael was instrumental in getting our girl up and walking after surgery. I will be forever grateful for all he did for our girl!

So her lungs sound the same. :( At lest they are not worse! We were given permission to space out her nebs every 6 hours instead of every 4 hours. We will do an x-ray next Wednesday at the clinic when we go for her cardiology follow-up. All we can do is keep her up and moving to help open her airways. Keep up with the bubbles and try to get her to take nice deep breaths and coughs as needed.

This evening we had Roberts parents and eldest daughter come over to visit!

Frankenstein walked pretty far tonight and decided to ride in the wagon the rest of the way home.

I have pictures I so want to post but I have to keep them a secret until we get to go see Gracie. We worked on getting Gracie's present all ready for her today.

1 Week After Surgery

Devin FINALLY got to sit next to his sissy! Have to keep a close eye on these two.

Arianna had another great day. She has more energy and her pain is under control. She did almost fall earlier when she was walking to the bathroom with her Daddy but its a good thing he was there and caught her. She said that hurt and looked scared. We had to explain to her why she has to be gentle with her chest for a few weeks. We didn't get technical before her surgery to not scare her about her chest being sawed open. Good thing we waited cause the look in her eyes was horrible when we told her they had to go through that bone to get to her heart. Explained that its a "broken" bone like mommy's foot when it broke and needs time to heal.

Then about 4:30pm Arianna asked to go for a walk! So we put our shoes on and grabbed the wagon to help her in case it was a bit too much. So incredible...a week after major open-heart surgery and we are going on a family walk!

This is about as far as she's gone since coming home...

Love the way the sun is shining through..looks as if the heavens are shining down on my baby girl!

She made it about 9 houses then wanted to ride in the wagon. Then she went across the street to check the mail.

Grams came over tonight to make cookies! These girls are inseperable! My mom is always willing to take time out of her  busy schedule to come over and do something fun with Arianna.Thanks Mom!

Story behind this pic. Arianna is getting a bit feisty already and fighting with her brother. I had to get a bit stern with her and she went to her chair to pout. So I told her cute she looked when she pouted...

That made her smile :) Sorry I can't help but want to keep that smile on her face. I've seen my girl cry way too much this week. 

Devin ended up crawling up on the couch and feel asleep. Hoping Arianna gets to sleep early. We were up till 2am last night watching "The Karate Kid"

Every day gets better

Thank you all for the prayers. Arianna took a turn for the better last night! Stopped requiring oxygen and has more strength and energy today!
