Arianna's First Ballet Recital

I am extremely proud of Arianna and completing her first year of ballet. She was in the white class and will advance to pink next year. She absolutely LOVES ballet and is even taking summer classes to advance her skills till next year. This was her first recital and I cannot tell you how emotional it was for me. We had just got back from California and she started getting sick on the drive home. Had a slight fever but I knew I couldn't let her miss this. She practiced so hard. This was the first time she was away from us for 5 HOURS!!! She did amazing and remember her dance when others were just standing there she was leading the group. Proud Mama moment!

Quick update

Devin is finally on the right medication. Thank you Prevacid!!! He is eating better and sleeping better at night. He does not have the 4 hours of screaming every night and actually smiles more! :)

Arianna is doing well. Started ballet again last week and counts down the days till she gets to go again. We are still waiting to get her speech therapy approved so no therapies going on at the moment which is kind of a nice break.

Ballet!

Arianna has definintly been doing alot of growing up lately. She started ballet this month and is LOVING it! She asks all week when she can go to ballet again and cries when we leave. I'm so happy this is a positive experience for her.

Since starting ballet she is now asking about going to school. I think it's just her missing speech therapy which was at the school but I've started looking into preschools since the developmental pediatrician thinks it would be good for her. As of right now I'm not 100% sure if we're going to enroll her this year or not but I'm getting a good idea whats out there.

Arianna Marie

Arianna was born on 11/26/06. 4 weeks premature, and weighing 4lbs 13ozs. She was born with a congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot, which is actually 4 heart defects, and was later diagnosed with an ASD. She had open-heart surgery on 5/22/06. Her surgery was to patch the VSD, patch the ASD, widen her pulmonary artery, and attempt to fix her pulmonary valve. They created a man-made pulmonary valve out of myocardium to avoid a conduit placement, which would require multiple surgeries. On September 21st, 2012 we got the news that Arianna's right ventricle pressures are too high and she needs a pulmonary valve placed. When we meet with the surgeon we found out she also has pulmonary branch stenosis and a possible defect in her tricuspid valve. He will be addressing all of these issues at the time of surgery. On October 18th, 2012, Arianna had her 2nd open-heart surgery.

At 5 weeks old she was diagnosed with a genetic disorder called 22q11.2 Deletion Syndrome, which is caused by a deletion of a small segment of the long arm of chromosome 22. This disorder has many names such as 22q Deletion syndrome, Velo-Cardio-Facial syndrome, DiGeorge syndrome, Shprintzen syndrome, and Catch 22. So far there has been more than 180 anomalies reported in this syndrome, which is highly variable from person to person and no individual has all of the anomalies. Arianna has overcome many obstacles and we find peace in knowing that God is working miracles in her life. We set this site up to share our family journey. We know that God has a special plan for Arianna and our family!
