Outside please!

This is what Arianna signs to me at least 15 times a day. She LOVES being outside. She even tried to open the door herself. I can't believe that she didn't even take a nap today. She was up at 8am and went to bed at 7:45pm! That is a first...and I'm hoping a last.

Well, here are some cute pictures I took of her today.

Yes...that is a slim jim she is eating. I was totally shocked myself :)

If anyone has some ideas on how to get her to sleep by herself, please let me know. I don't know if you remember a few weeks back I moved her crib right next to our bed...well I'm beginning to think that wasn't such a good idea. She will not stay asleep by herself for the life of me. It's not like she has ever really sleep well unless she is being held or if someone is sleeping in bed with her, but this is getting a little ridiculous. I can't get anything done when she goes to bed cause she is constantly up crying until one of us go to bed with her. I forgot to mention that we got approved for the house...yipee! So we will be moving in 2 weeks. I'm so excited because Arianna can finally have her own room...but what good does that do if she can't even sleep in her crib by herself. UGH! Help someone!!!

I know all about the sleeping thing! Vaeh actually sleeps in her own crib (we've never put her in bed with us because of the tube feed), however big sister doesn't quite yet understand the concept - even at 4 yrs. old! She'll start out in her own bed, but make her way over to ours by morning. Since Daddy isn't home usually during the week, I have plenty of bed to share! What I've heard to do, though, is to take them back in and put them back to bed until they stay. As with anything, its a long drawn out process, but maybe it will be helpful! Hope you have fun moving! We bought our house 2 1/2 years ago, & I think I'm still unpacking! Take care & enjoy the outside! We were still in the 20's last night! Burr!!

Wish I had some words of wisdom!! Colin sleeps in his own crib at night but, I have to be next to him when he takes a nap during the day. So...we are in the same boat and I can't get anything done all day!! These heart babies need some extra loving I guess!!

Great pics!!

I have to admit, I'm one of those mean mommies who employed Ol' Ferber's method, but it worked for me! It does come with some tears, but not for long, and we now have three sleeping champs at our house. Now they won't even sleep with me if I want them too! We worked on sleep habits when they were a bit younger, though. The other option is to wait until Arianna is a bit older, and BRIBE her into sleeping in her own room/ crib, eg, let her pick her bedding, wall color, etc.

Arianna's new pics are adorable, she is too cute!

I am of ZERO help for you seeing that Noah (5) and Leah (3) both have to fall asleep in our bed and then Jon moves them to their rooms...Micah is just plain stuck in our bed...he REFUSES to sleep anywhere further than 2 inches from mommy...unless he is in his carseat...I feel your pain!

I love the pictures as always...she is just gorgeous...I see lots of boys fighting for her in the future...especially one adorable little boy here is Texas!

Love,
Samantha

I was going to tell you NOT to ask Samantha...she's too funny!
You know...I'm one of those moms that NEVER let the kiddos sleep in our bed (only on special occasions). So...good LUCK! Maybe if she got some new stuffed animals or baby dolls that SHE could be in charge of putting to bed each night with her (my Eli still does that.,..he sleeps with about 5 bears that he's made)...if she thinks she NEEDS to be in the crib to help watch her babies...maybe she'll stay.
GOOD LUCK!
she's looking quite adorable today...just put a tent outside and stay!
Congrats on the new house!!! WHOO HOO! way to go!
Talk to you soon!

Hi I found your blog from the Porta's blog. I am curious to know more about the butterfly vertebrae thing. My son, Harrison, was born with CHD and has 22q deletion. He is having an MRI on April 17th to check for a tethered cord. He has a sacral dimple and is chronically constipated. I would love to chat. Your little girl is precious. We use signs too. My son loves to use the more sign, but has trouble letting us know what he wants more of. When we say show us he gives us the please sign. These kiddos are just too cute sometimes.

She is so cute!! Let me know if you figure out the sleep thing. Grace NEVER sleeps....ever. Ugh...that makes a tired mommy.

Glad that you were able to have a great day.

What a beautiful little girl! It is great to see her feeling better and enjoying herself.

As for getting her to sleep by herself - maybe you can start moving a little bit further away from her each night, so she slowly gets used to not having someone right beside her, until eventually you are outside the room and she can hear your voice if she needs reassurance. As other people have said, it will be a slow process, but with time she will learn to feel comfortable sleeping on her own. Good luck!

Sorry it took us so long to get on to your blogspot! Glad we finally did! We love making new friends! Arianna is soooo adorable! I'm with you on the sleeping thing! It was bound to happen with us though! Our now 9-year old was sleeping in our bed until he was 5! Our now 4-year old was sleeping with us until she was 2 and then we gradually got her into the crib which is in our room. Eventually we got her into her own room, but she still continues to run to our room in the middle of the night to get into the crib! Needless to say, Miss Alysa is still in our bed! We keep talking like we're going to put her in the crib at night, but it never seems to happen! LOL!!! Being a heart mom, it's hard! I constantly want to keep a close eye on her, so it just makes sense to me to keep her in my bed, but then again, I need to get her into her own! If you find a solution that works for you, please share!!! We're up for ideas, too! Take care and God Bless!
