Pre-op

We took Arianna to tour the hospital even though she's been there many times. We wanted to make sure she felt comfortable with everyone. It was great cause we even ran into 2 of her specialists and her heart surgeon in PICU! They had a great talk and he explained to us some techniques he's going to be doing on her which helped me understand the severity of her surgery a bit more. But I know it's all in God's hands. Here are some pics from today.

Lauren the child life specialist who will be with us before surgery

Amy is the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit child life specialist.

Now its time to head across the parking lot for pre-op

Arianna is drawing on Aleayah since she just had heart surgery.

Time to put on the guaze to cover her incision.

The child life specialist gave her a bag of goodies to help pass the time!

Unfortunatly the CBC we did last week was not enough. Dr. T is strick about all the blood workup he likes done but blood type matching needing to be done. So Arianna was NOT happy about that. She practiced taking blood from her doll before we had to go do it herself.

Putting a band aid on!

She was so proud cause she watched them draw he blood and didn't cry too much. She has to wear this silly bracelet on till tomorrow due to the blood matching thing. Kind of silly if you ask me.

ALL DONE!!! Only took 4 hours..

We love our girl so much!

Aleayah had a rough day too. Arianna finally took off her mask and gauze. She is so smart. She tells me every day she is going to work on taking something out of her and that means she is closer to going home.

Good bye Diamond Childrens...see you in the early morning

After several hours we are finally back.
Several times she's climbed in my lap and cried and cried telling me how scared she is. Thank you God for the strength to keep reminding her of Your faithful to be there for us in the good and the bad. We know the Heavenly Father will be guiding Dr. Teodori's hands tomorrow as he performs Arianna's 2nd open-heart surgery.

It's 11:30pm and my girl has till midnight to eat so that is what she's doing. A bowl of jello and a bowl of cherrios! Then we need to get some rest cause we have to be up at 4am. Check in is about 6am and surgery is scheduled to start at 7:30.

You are doing an amazing job with Arianna. It's not easy to be strong for your child when your heart is breaking on the inside.

Continued prayers for you both. (((hugs)))
